Thermal monitoring that catches a hot gin stand before it becomes a fire
The Gen 3 TS-1 thermal sensor system watches gin saw temperatures continuously and ejects the stand automatically when a critical temperature is reached, helping prevent fires and cut unplanned downtime.

What TS-1 does
Continuous thermal watch
Thermal cameras cover the saw cylinder and report temperature continuously, so a bearing or a choke that is beginning to heat shows up as it develops rather than as smoke.
Automatic ejection
When a stand crosses its critical threshold, TS-1 drives the eject relay directly. The response does not wait on an operator noticing an alarm.
Staged alarms
Separate air, warning and alarm outputs let a gin act early on a warming trend and reserve the hard stop for a genuine emergency.
Built for the gin floor
Sealed enclosure, an operator touchscreen at the stand, and per-camera views so a technician can see which stand is running hot without leaving the aisle.

Why gin stands catch fire
A gin stand runs hundreds of saws through seed cotton at speed. When a bearing starts to fail, a saw contacts a rib, or a choke packs the cylinder, the energy goes somewhere, and where it goes is heat. By the time smoke reaches a person, the fire has usually already started, and a fire in a gin stand does not stay in the gin stand.
The window between "this stand is getting hot" and "this stand is on fire" is short, but it is not zero. TS-1 exists to act inside that window.
How TS-1 works
Thermal cameras are mounted to look down the saw cylinder of each monitored stand. The system reads them continuously and tracks temperature per stand, watching both the absolute reading and the trend.
Three output stages let the gin decide how to respond:
- Air clears the immediate area and can be used early, on a warming trend.
- Warning alerts the operator that a stand needs attention.
- Alarm ejects the stand. TS-1 drives the relay itself, so the response does not depend on somebody being at the panel.
All three are also exposed to the gin PLC over Modbus TCP, along with per-stand temperatures, so the existing control system sees exactly what TS-1 sees and the gin's own interlocks can act on it.
What the operator sees
A touchscreen at the stand shows a live thermal view of every monitored cylinder. Hot regions are obvious at a glance, which matters most during a callout: a technician can tell which stand triggered, and why, before opening anything up.
Installation
TS-1 mounts to the existing stand housing on an adjustable arm and runs to a sealed enclosure. The system is managed as a fleet, so software updates and health monitoring happen remotely rather than requiring a site visit.
