Know the moisture in every bale, not just the ones you sample
The Gen 3 MS-1 measures the moisture percentage of cotton bales as they are produced. Installed on the module feeder, it also tracks moisture trends in incoming modules, so a shift shows up before it reaches bale quality.

Every bale, measured
MS-1 reads continuously and segments the stream bale by bale, so moisture is a number attached to each bale rather than an average across a shift.
Early warning at the feeder
Installed on the module feeder, MS-1 tracks the moisture of incoming modules. A wet module is visible on the way in, while there is still time to do something about it.
Radio-frequency measurement
Moisture is read by RF measurement rather than by contact probe, so there is nothing riding on the cotton and nothing in the path to wear out.
Calibrated against drift
Air calibration establishes the baseline and the system watches for environmental drift, so a reading in the afternoon means what it meant in the morning.

Moisture is the number that pays
Moisture decides two things at once, and they pull in opposite directions. Too dry and fiber breaks, turnout suffers, and quality grades come back worse than the crop deserved. Too wet and the bale is a storage risk and the weight is not honestly yours to sell.
The band you actually want to run in is narrow. Hitting it consistently means knowing where you are continuously, not just at the end of the shift.
What MS-1 measures
MS-1 uses radio-frequency measurement to read moisture percentage without touching the cotton. There is no probe riding the stream and no consumable in the path.
The system reads continuously and segments that stream into bales, so each bale carries its own moisture figure. That is the difference between knowing your gin averaged a number and knowing which bales were outside the band.
At the module feeder
Mounted on the module feeder, MS-1 does a second job: it watches what is coming in. Module-to-module moisture trends show up as they arrive, which turns a downstream quality problem into an upstream decision: adjust, sequence differently, or hold.
In the control room
Moisture readings go to the gin PLC over Modbus TCP, so the existing control system can use them directly. A local touchscreen shows the live readout at the machine, and the system logs continuously for diagnostics when something needs to be traced back.
Calibration is handled by an air-calibration routine with environmental drift detection, so readings stay comparable across a day and across a season.
